Neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Nucevia are injectable treatments that work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles or unwanted facial expressions. These products contain a purified form of botulinum toxin, which, in small, controlled doses block the signals from nerves to muscles. When the nerve signals are blocked, the targeted muscles can't contract as strongly, which helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, especially around the forehead, eyes, and mouth. The effect usually lasts a few months, after which the treatment needs to be repeated. These neuromodulators are also used for medical conditions like chronic migraines, excessive sweating, and muscle spasms.
